People’s Park Shanghai

People’s Park (人民 公园; Renmin Gongyuan) is just next to People’s Square. The People’s Park, with eight gates and a total area of 98,200 m² (1,057,016 ft²), can be divided into three parts; the east, middle and the west part. The most interesting thing about the park, and especially interesting for tourists from Western countries is the part devoted to so-called “blind dates”, where parents usually gather during the weekend to try and find soul mates for their unmarried children.

Near People’s Park are Shanghai Museum and Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center.
